Bill was a four year starter for Selinsgrove’s legendary wrestling coach Dick Smoker. He continued his wrestling career at Susquehanna University where he again was a four year starter. He became the Crusaders first undefeated wrestler in dual meets. His dream was to return to Selinsgrove High School and give back to the program that gave him so much. The dream came true when he was hired to teach Environmental Science In the fall of 1971. Bill’s coaching career began as the assistant junior high coach that same year. The next year he was hired as the head junior high coach and stayed in that position for 9 years. He then moved up to the assistant varsity position and became the varsity coach when Coach Smoker became ill. He stayed in that position for 10 years. After taking 15 years off, he returned to the junior high where he is now the assistant coach. This is his eighth year in that position.
