He, then, became a PIAA wrestling official for six years. Jason says “I want to take what I’ve learned from wrestling and teach kids the discipline it takes to become a quality wrestler.”

Assistant Coach - Tim Carter

Coach Tim Carter was an assistant coach in the seals elementary program for five years under the leadership of former head coach Jerry Bastian. He’s looking forward to continuing a successful program with the help from some great assistant coaches, through hard work and determination.

Coach Carter enjoys coaching the seals elementary wrestlers and feels it's an honor and privilege to do so. Coach Carter has two sons, Cain and Crue who wrestle in the program and wife Tameka who is very active within the wrestling program. He looks forward to watching a competitive program for years to come.

Assistant Coach – Jim Kadryna

Jim Kadryna has been a coach in the program for many years. He started in the elementary when his son, Alex, began wrestling and has never left. He is the sort of coach that we prefer to have everywhere. His positive attitude, mixed with his desire to push the wrestlers to work hard are qualities that can and should be utilized at every level. Jim serves as a floater coach meaning he will move from level to level, whenever and wherever we need him. His levels include primarily the varsity but also the junior high and girls team.

Jim is a 1998 graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School, where he wrestled and played football. As a wrestler he was a District champion, Inter-regional Champion, and state qualifier at 189 lbs.  After high school, he attended Lock Haven University where he continued wrestling before deciding to join the rugby team.  While at Lock Haven he earned a degree in Environmental Biology, and eventually returned to complete a master’s degree in Education.  This led him back to Selinsgrove High School where he is currently teaching Physics and Environmental Science.

Jim’s coaching career has spanned several sports including wrestling, football, and baseball at both the youth and jr. high/high school levels.  He was an assistant coach to both Todd Myers and Seth Martin in the past but has more recently been involved in youth sports while coaching his sons.  He is excited once again to get the opportunity to help shape the athletes of the Selinsgrove wrestling program.
